The material of rivet

What are the types and functions of rivets?

In daily life, the types of rivet parts include R-shaped rivets, fan rivets, blind rivets, tree rivets, semi-tubular rivets, solid rivets, countersunk rivets, hollow rivets etc. which are usually used the self-deformation to connect the riveted pieces. Generally, cold riveting part is used for those smaller than 8 mm, and hot riveting part is used for those larger than this size. But there are exceptions. For example, the nameplate on some locks is riveted by the interference between the rivet and the hole of the lock body.

R-shaped plastic rivets are also called expansion rivets, which are composed of plastic nails and female buckles. It does not need to use installation tools during installation. Place the installation base in a smooth hole, and then press the head. The specially designed foot expands after being stressed, and then it is firmly locked on the surface installed. It is often used to connect plastic shells, lightweight plates, insulating materials, circuit boards, or any other thin, light-weight materials, beautiful and practical, and it is easy to use.

The fan rivets are specially designed for manual installation. They can be pulled in through the holes of the panel or the bottom frame. It is made of elastic material and has good toughness. It can be installed quickly even in interference assembly. The design is ingenious and flexible, and the corresponding aperture is not easy to slide out after being pulled in. The fan rivet is mainly used for fixing between the fan, heat sink and chip of the electronic computer case, which is anti-vibration and reduces noise.
