AgSnO2 And AgSnO2In2O3
AgSnO2 and AgSnO2In2O3 show high arc erosion resistance and a good resistance against contact welding. By introducing certain additives. the AgSnO2 materials. produced by the powder metallurgy technique ( sintering and extrusion) can be modified in such a manner that contact resistance and over temperature behavior can be maintained low and stable over service life.Material transfer in DC operation is low. Contact materials of the AgSnO2, and AgSnO2In2O3 type are non- toxic and friendly to the environment.
Widely used in various kinds of contactors, relays, circuit breakers and switches, and so on.
AgCdO contacts belong to the group of the most widely used ones on the field of low voltage electric apparatus. They combine a satisfactory resistance against contact welding with a good arc erosion resistance and a fairly low Contact resistance over its complete service life. They are produced with two different techniques. atomizing sintering- extrusion or by melting and subsequent internal oxidation. In both cases CdO content may range from 10 to 18wt.%. However, Cd and CdO are considered to be hazardous to health and the environment. For this reason the use of AgCdO materials will be banned in a number of countries.
Mainly used in almost every type of low voltage switching devices. They are typically used in microswitches, relays, light switches, contactors, switches for household appliances. Some types of protective switches, as well as in certain types of circuit breakers.
AgNi materials have higher resistance to arc erosion and contact welding than Ag or FAg. Both properties are improved with increasing Ni content. All AgNi materials show good workability and are easy to weld to contact Suppots. Low tendency towards material transfer in applications. AgNi materials are environment-protective materials.
AgNi contact materials find a wide range of application in low voltage switching devices. They are used in power relays, small contactors, lights witches, temperature controllers etc., as well as in protective switches (in the latter case, they are used in asymmetric contact pairs for instance, against AgC or AgZnO materials).
AgCuo is a new kind of environment protective contact material. It has high resistance to welding. and has much better properties than AgSnO2 and AgNi in the application of DC content range of CuO is 8%-15%.
AgCuo contact materials are mainly used in medium and heavy load switches . such as contactors. magnetic switches. relay and controllers. They are more suitable for the application of DC contactors. Magnetic switches. relay and controllers. They are more suitable for the application of DC contacars.
A high resistance against welding characterizes AgZnO materials. They also show a good resistance against arc erosion. Contact resistance of AgZnO tends to be higher than that of AgCdO. AgZnO can be produced by means of Atomizing-sintering-extrusion. mixing-compacting-sintering techniques as well as by internal oxidation AgZnO materials are environment- protective materials.
Mainly used in circuit breakers. especially in universal cicuit breakers. Other of application are motor protective switches. residual current circuit breakers and ACrelays.
Siler and fine grain silver(FAg)possess very very high electrical and thermal conductivity. low and contact resistance. and good work ability. For silver resistance to arc erosion and contact welding are limited. mechanica strength is low. Due to the small quantity of nickel in the fine grain silver. resistance to arc erosion to arc erosion and mechanical strength are higher than of silver.
Widely used in current devices. such as relays. auxiliary switches for householdappliances (FAg)control switches(FAg).
